Gil Nevarez Partners with Shelby American in Furthering
Research and Development Efforts

LAS VEGAS, NV, April 02, 2010 -- Gil Nevarez, owner of Nevarez Racing Products, announces his partnership with Shelby American after 19 successful years as an independent entrepreneur and innovator of tuning applications within the racing industry. Furthering an existing business relationship with Shelby where Nevarez would collaborate with the distinguished car maker on special projects, Nevarez looks forward to a new chapter and challenge in his already accomplished career.

"We have been neighbors at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the past ten years and in a natural progression of our business relationship, we came together and decided that the resources afforded to me by Shelby would only enhance our combined efforts in furthering the innovations within automotive racing technology," says Nevarez.

At Shelby, Nevarez now becomes an integral voice in the research and development of automotive technology and product packages that will continue to exude the finesse and uniqueness of the automaker giant. His experience coupled with Shelby's state-of-the-art facilities give him the confidence that the current and future standard of automotive technology will be raised beyond expectations.

Nevarez's extensive knowledge stems back to one of his earliest post-college jobs at the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) where he was involved in aftermarket parts Executive Order certifications and the alternative fuels division for six years. "It was at C.A.R.B. that I began to work in-depth with hi-tech equipment in my testing for air emissions and the effects of air-fuel mixtures and their direct relation to the production of horsepower," explains Nevarez. "I had a steep learning curve as I utilized hi-tech analytical software platforms at the state level and that's how I began to integrate the technology with my existing knowledge of engines. In today's market, there are engine builders who may not have the knowledge of software utilization. In contrast, there are software geniuses who don't possess the knowledge of engines. It really takes a marriage of both worlds in order to be a successful tuner - it has become a rare breed."

At Shelby, Nevarez looks forward to leading a team to the new frontier of automotive technology. "I see Shelby expanding its market internationally and really making a solid presence in these markets and making the brand as popular, well-known, and credible as it is in the United States," says Nevarez.

As Nevarez transitions from being an independent business owner to a leader within Shelby, he credits his success as an entrepreneur to his ability to relate to the masses. "I've been a racer for over two decades and this experience has enabled me to relate to the esteemed race teams while also relating to the average person who simply wants a faster car for their personal enjoyment," says Nevarez. "Carroll Shelby began as a racer as well and has transitioned to utilizing his experience and knowledge to provide consumers with world-class products."
